lyrics

i stood there all night
trying to think of a reason
i couldn't find one
so i made up a reason
walked past your window
but you couldn't see me
walk past your window
until you could see me
there was a time when
i could have told you
your every thought and
your every emotion
but times are strange now
and you don't even know me
another shadow falls across your eyelid and you're alone

i used to hate myself just so i'd have some kind of feeling
i stared a hole right through that spot on the ceiling
right past your window
why don't you believe me?
walk past your window
and i can hardly believe that
there was a time when
I could have told you
your every thought and
your every emotion
but we're so strange now
that i don't want to know you
another shadow falls and we're lighting candles in the snow

she was always going where the finger led
i was following my naive ideals instead
we evolved that way
but now there's not any time for us
i know we had a good thing but we've seen it's end
still i know i don't want everything we've built
together blowing away like ash in the wind
another shadow pushes sun from the sky and we're alone

They broke up in 2010 a year after losing Plattsmier to suicide. Bassist Ronan Bradley played for the last year of the group. ... more
